A DAY IN MY LIFE (and my go-to success tool)

January 7th, 2021 By Autumn Calabrese

I get asked several times a day, what my daily routines are, if I have any special rituals, what I use on a regular basis, and so on. In this post, I want to share with you a look into some of the things I do for my mind, body, and overall health. For the first time EVER, I am sharing my personal morning routine that I haven't shared anywhere before.

Hopefully, what I share will inspire you to adopt some of these peak habits. 2020 was hard enough, let's leave it where it is- in the past. So many people wake up in the new year, expecting it to be different just because it’s a new year. The only way it can be different is if YOU make different choices. I’m no different than anyone else. I don’t have any superpowers, quick fixes, or magic pills. I have my goals and my unwavering dedication to them and most importantly, I have the tools to help me achieve them. I am sharing my most important and secret MINDSET tool here.

We are all born with 3 things:

A mind
A Body
A lifetime

I'll be covering those three areas below because how you use the first two, determines the quality of the third. Take care of the first two and the third will naturally follow.

So come with me as I take you on a digital tour of a day in my life. My morning ritual may seem a little "out there" but make sure to keep an open mind. This works for me, it has worked for countless others, and it can work for you too if you allow it.

Let's dive in!

For My Mind: A Success Morning Ritual Like None Other

At 6 am, I am up and at it! I drink my water and make my coffee with a little coconut oil, four drops of liquid stevia, and cinnamon to two shots of espresso. Then I take my cup of happiness and into my morning ritual I go!

A little while ago, I found this ebook written by a woman that knows real suffering, pain, and misery, and yet, on her own, she became a true success. When I read her book, I thought that if she can heal PTSD from child abuse and overcome the challenges of growing up in a negative, abusive, and traumatic home, and go on to manifest a life full of joy and happiness....well....she might know what she's talking about! I was hooked from the moment I read her ebook because I knew her story. I knew what she had overcome and I knew she was the real deal. My morning routine is the exact routine that she shares about in her book. I highly recommend you get both book and journal and do ALL the steps she talks about.

This routine is something I haven't shared before but I love it because it helps me keep a positive mindset which leads to a positive life. Staying positive can be hard in general, but now more than ever it’s necessary. We need to make 2021 a better year for ourselves but no one can do that for you. YOU have to put in the work and dedication to learn new things that help you grow and with that growth, a better life is born.

We are all a work in progress, every day, from the day we are born till the day we die we should always be growing. Anyone that thinks they don’t have anymore learning or growing or improving to do is selling themselves short.

Your Turn: Go check out the secret morning ritual I'm doing to uplevel my mindset and by connection, my life, and commit to it for the next 30 days. After 30 days, reply to this email and share with me how adopting this morning routine has changed your life. I know it will because it did for me. Success leaves clues and it's been PROVEN that people with morning rituals, routines, or habits are MORE successful, happier, and healthier than those without.

For My Body: Take Back Control

Now that I primed my mindset, and I feel amazing, it's time to work out! When life is challenging everything, it’s important to take control of everything you can, and that means taking control of your nutrition, fitness, mindset, and health, so you can respond to anything else life throws your way! If I skipped my coffee, need a little extra oomph, or am doing my workout several hours later (depends on if I had an early meeting or not) then I drink my energize so I can crush one of my new, 9 Week Control Freak workouts. Now it depends on the day. Usually, I try to get in a morning workout, but life gets in the way sometimes! And when that happens, my workout gets done later in the day, but guess what? I STILL do it! I do it because I always feel AMAZING after I'm done! No matter what happens in the day, good or bad, my workout has the power to change my mood and make it a good day! Exercise is a metaphor for life, you do hard things in your workout and show yourself you can do hard things in life. It doesn’t just make you strong physically it makes you strong mentally but it starts with you taking control.

Being in control of my nutrition is not about being obsessive, but rather, it's about making sure that I eat the foods that help me FEEL good so I can LIVE good. I eat about every 3 hours. I love starting my day with my gluten-free steel-cut oatmeal with a teaspoon of natural almond butter, cinnamon, and banana. Lunch may be quinoa with salmon and Brussels sprouts around noon. Last night's dinner was a burger with brown rice on top of mixed greens drizzled with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

I am a true Shakeology junkie and never miss a day. Shakeology has too many good things in it to pass up! I usually have it for a snack because it re-energizes me and is an essential part of living healthy. There are no real quick fixes. There’s no workaround to eating like crap and still being healthy. Focus on healthy habits that build a healthy lifestyle and that will build a healthy, fit body. I eat a variety of things that is too much to list here, but they all usually come from my recipes on The Monthly Fix. If you want to eat what I do, The Monthly Fix contains all of my everyday recipes.

Your Turn: Commit To Moving Your Body & Dial in your nutrition. Remember that what you put in your body consistently, will determine how you feel and show up for your day. Don't make it ONLY about what the outside looks like. Choose workouts and food and drinks that are in alignment with FEELING good!

For My Life: Balancing Being With Doing

Every day changes, but on a typical day, I will take Dom to his horse riding lessons, have a conference call with Beachbody, responded to more and more emails, and help my dad unpack his new place. My day is really a compilation of answering emails, doing videos, being a mom to Dom, taking business meetings, and lately (and secretly), meeting with my team because we are working on a super secretive project! Seriously! I will be announcing it next week and emailing you first, so you will know before anyone else! No one else is going to know about this just you and other Team AC Members! Get excited about it, because you won't even be able to GUESS what I will be announcing!

Your Turn: Busy is a mindset not an actual state of being. We make time for the things that are important to us. I’m sure we can all think of a few times where despite having a lot to do we made time, found time for something we really wanted to do. Adjust your mindset around the concept. Take control of your schedule, plan for the things that matter most and there will always be time. What are you making time for today?

As we start this new year, let’s let go of the excuses and embrace the tools that help improve our health and wellness. I have shared some of those tools here. A better and healthier life happens one day at a time and one choice at a time. What are you choosing to do differently today to bring you one small step closer to a goal you have?

The only thing that stands between you and what you want out of life is the will to try and the faith to believe it’s possible. Go out there and earn what’s yours.

Autumn
