Healthy Lunch Ideas for Healthy Kids

Here are five quick, easy, and delicious ways to prepare healthy meals to go for your children.

FIRST THINGS FIRST: PREP

Prepping the night before is an essential aspect of starting to pack healthy and easy lunches. It helps make the mornings when you are preparing for school and work so much easier knowing that a nutritious meal is ready to go.

Shopping during the weekends allows you to better prepare for the week and to plan nutritious lunch meals. The hours are precious on the weekend but your fridge needs to be ready to go Sunday onhealthy gastrointestinal tract night to pack lunches for Monday morning.

GET CREATIVE

FIXATE™ provides numerous deceptively healthy recipes that allow parents to get creative when it comes to fruits and veggies. Your children may not eat the fruit cup you keep putting in their lunch boxes, but they may eat strawberries and blueberries if you slice and serve them with french toast sticks instead. You can add a Justin’s Almond Butter packet for an additional protein as well. (See photo above)

LEFTOVERS

There is absolutely nothing wrong with packing leftovers for lunch! It makes for a quick to prep and delicious lunch the next day that the entire family can enjoy.

GO TO RECIPES

Lastly, have a handful of recipes that you can always fall back on when the week gets hectic! Pasta Fagioli is one of my go-to recipes that are easy to prepare and packed full of nutrition. Pull it out of the fridge in the morning to heat. Scoop it into a thermos and send your child out the door with a warm meal.
